Prof. Sola Ehindero
Prof. Sola Ehindero attended Gboloji Grammar School, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, Nigeria for his Secondary Education between 1960 and 1964. He is an alumnus of the University of Ibadan from where he obtained his Bachelor of Education (Zoology) degree in 1972. He was at Oregon State University, Corvallis, USA for his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in 1974 and 1976 respectively.
Professor Ehindero has had an extremely brilliant and accomplished academic career spanning over 40 years at the Obafemi Awolowo University (O.A.U) Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He was Head of Department of Special Education & Curriculum Studies, O.A.U (1990-1992); Director, Institute of Education, O.A.U (1993-1995); Dean, Faculty of Education O.A.U (2000-2002); Dean, Faculty of Education and Chairman Committee of Deans, University of Education, Ifaki-Ekiti, Ondo State, Nigeria (2008-2009).
Prof Ehindero has supervised over 15 and 25 post graduate students at the Ph.D. and Masters levels respectively over the years and has over 50 research publications both in local and international journals in his area of discipline. He has authored and co-authored over 12 books/Monographs in Science Education, Curriculum and instruction and Environmental Education
He has served as Consultant to United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF), United State Agency for International Development (USAID) and International labour Organisation (ILO) on anti-human and trafficking and Forced Labour issues. He served as Consultant to National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) among others. He was External Assessor /Examiner to Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria (1995-1997); University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria (1997-2005); University of Sierra Leone, Freetown(2002-2003)among others.
Professor Ehindero has served on the Governing Councils of: Ondo State College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti (1994-1995); Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo (2001-2002); Pioneer – member of the Board of Trustees of Lead City University, Ibadan, Nigeria and Women Trafficking and Child Labour Eradication Foundation (WOTCLEF) and many others.
He served as Vice-Chancellor of The West African Union University, Cotonou, Benin Republic.
Prof. Ehindero was appointed Pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Atiba University in February 2018
His hobbies are writing, reading and watching soccer.
He is happily married with children.
